10 Days: from Fes-Sahara - Ait Ben Haddou-to Marrakech - Fes
Day1: Fes- Midelt
Pic up you in your riad at 9 :00 ,The first stop of the day will be in Ifran, the "Switzerland of Marocco” just a short distance from Fes. You will then journey over the Middle Atlas Mountains and its famous Cedar forest, hopefully catching a glimpse of the native Barbary apes (macaques). Lunch in the way and overnight in Midelt,villa pomme d'or
Day 2 : Midelt -Merzougua (camp)
you will go along the magnificent Ziz Valley, stopping along the way to capture beautiful photos. You will pass through the Berber villages of Erfoud,Visit the museum of fossils before arriving in Merzouga where you will head directly into the desert and your camp for the night. Enjoy a spot of Moroccan tea and then hop on your camel for a trek into the nomad camp where you will stay for the night.
Day 3 : Merzougua-Toudra valley
Awake just before the sun so you can climb the nearest dune and start your day with natural beauty. Take a peaceful camel trek back to the base camp for breakfast and a quick shower then head off into the south of Morocco. Passing through Rissani and Tinghir, you will come to 9Todgha Gorge. You will have a chance to stop and do some walking here and have a spot of lunch.then continuous in side the gorge, overnight in hotel
Day 4 :Todgha – Dades
Travel to Dades ,Valley with its winding switchbacks up the gorge and witness the natural phenomena of amazing rock formations called “monkeys fingers». Hike 2 h in the cannyon. Lunch than overnight in hotel
Day 5 : Dades- Nkob – zagora.
Breakfast,crossing the small atlas via the Tazazert pass, good lunar landscapes with bab Ali peaks, then the village of Nkob with its beautiful kasbahs, meals ,then raod of Draa valley, big palms . Overnight in kasbah in Zagora
Day 6 : Zagora-tagounit -M’hamid- Chgaga dunes(camp)
We pass by Tamagrout That is Situated on Draa Rive,In this small town we will visit oldest libraries of the kingdom. Driving along Draa valley to M’hamid, that is a very modest village. and not much different from the village you have passed before arriving here. From a vast plateau you will get impressed by the huge sand dune of Chgaga ,where we go for a camel ride to meet one of the most fascinating sand dunes sights we will ever see, the superb sunset in the middle of the high sand dune.Tonight we stay in Berber camp and enjoy a wonderful stars view.
Day 7 : Chgaga Dunes – Iriki Lake – Foumzguid – Tazenakht – Ait Benhaddou
From Chigaga we drive a long sand dunes on a peaceful and fascinating wilderness some passing by the natural dried lake of Iriki.30 years ago this lake was full of water and different kinds of birds. After a long way driving on an off-road .we get in to the regular road and pass the small town of Foum-Zguid, which is a noiseless and a sleepy Berber town. We stopover in Taznakht.It was a former trading post for this large region.This little Berber village is one of the biggest centers of carpets in the kingdom.An easy drive and we get to Universal heritage of Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah,a fortified village of the 11th century where we will spend the night in the kasbah
Day 8 : Ait Benhaddou – Telouet- Tichka Pass – Marrakech
Just 40 km from Ait Benhadou Kasbah, we will see the Kasbah of Telout,a former route of the caravans from the Sahara over the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. It was the seat of the El Glaoui family’s power;they were given political power of Morocco south of High Atlas Mountains by the King Moulay Hassan. The Glaouis were almost as strong in power as the sultan himself. The palace can still be visited but it is steadily becomiong more damaged and is slowly collapsing. In 2010, work was underway to restore the property. lunch in the Pass of Tichka and drive to Marrakech.overnight in Riad
Day 9 : Exploring Marrakech :
Your introduction to Marrakech will begin in the Medina, the old quarter of the Marrakech. Fromhere we will explore this historically charming area by foot. In Djemaa lFna, you will visit the famous 12th century Koutouba Mosque and Bahia palace,
Your guide will lead you through the labyrinth streets and alleys of the Djemaa. Enjoy aromatic smells, taste fresh squeezed orange juice and venture into the souks specializing in Berber carpets, silver jewelry, artisan workshops, handmade shoes and tanneries, night in your riad .
Day 10 : Marrakech -Beni mellal -Khenifra - Azrou- Fes.
Today we have the longest stage of our round trip on the agenda. It covers about 500km and takes us from Marrakech via Beni Mellal and Ifrane through the Middle Atlas to Fès.overnight in Riad.
