Morocco Mountain bike three valleys

Mountain biking crossing the high atlas and three valleys (Tassaout - Roses valley and Dades valley)

Day 1: Marrakech –Timi-N-Outine

Reception at the airport, transfer (75 km 1h20) by minibus north-east direction (Demnate), passing through Sidi Rahal, stop at Tazert.

Assembly of our mountain bikes, picnic and on the way to join the Moulay Yousef dam.

1st stage: 22.5km including 2.5km of road + 578m -415m

We will start by crossing the olive groves before crossing the village of Izafamene and Sidi Youssef then we will attack the foothills of the Atlas which have been partly reforested. We will take the road that will bring us to Lake Aït Adel, there, either we will go down to Timi-N-Outine with meal and night in a stopover gîte or after having crossed the dam we will take the track on the left for 2km towards Zawyat Inchane where we will plant the camp (1000m).

Day 2: Timi-N-Outine - Aît Moussa

2nd stage: 36.8km including 3.5km of road + 1079m -732m

We will warm up on the 3.5km road before attacking a large track that runs along the Jbel Tamalout to the village of Tawnnawt then it will be the Jbel Issair Drar then the Jbel Wadaker to Aït Wayour before bypassing the Jbel Sidi Bou Az and cross it via the Tizi Maloulene pass (1549m). We will descend to the Tassawt valley where we will see small villages clinging to the mountains before arriving at Aït Moussa.

Assembly of tents, meals and overnight in camp. (1180m)

Day 3: Aît Moussa – Toufghine.

3rd stage: 38.3km including 14km of road + 1169m -657m

This morning we will continue by the valley track. After we will pass to Aït Oumdiss (1300m) then Tizzert where we leave the valley to attack our 2nd pass (1880m) to go down to Aït Tamlil to take the road (14km) to the Aït Alla bridge. There, just after the bridge going up to the village of Toufghine, Meal and night at the local family "Chez Ibrahim"

Day 4: Toufghine - Tassaout N 'Ouflia

3rd stage: 36km + 1122m -467m

Day without assistance depending on the flow of the River! ..

After breakfast we will take the track to the right after the bridge to go up the valley along the assif Tassawt where we will cross the villages of Irbrane, Ifoulou. There our progress will depend on the water level. We will cross the villages of Fakhour, then Aït Ain Ito (where we have the possibility of going to visit the small village of Megdaz (+ 8km + 150m) and to drink a Wisky Berber at the inhabitant, to see a flour mill). Aït Hamza where the valley is reduced and we will drive and in the bed of the Oued to Talat N Tazart. We will see the perched village of Ichebaken then Amezri or by a diverted track we leave the valley of the Tassawt in Tasgaïwalt to attack the pass of Tizi-N-Oulaoun (2767m). We stop before the pass at Tassaout N'Ouflia.

Day 5: Tassaout N 'Ouflia –Alemdoun

5th stage: 66.5km including 350m of road + 1136m -1737m)

A long stage awaits us ...

We start with a short climb (7.5km + 450m) on the jbel Tizoula (superb view of the Tassawt valley) to pass the Tizi-N-Oulaoun pass (2767m), then we descend (23km) quickly along Oued Ghalb on Tamezrite N'Aït Afrane, then in Taghera we will go through the other side of the valley to Imi-N-Oulaoun. When we find the road to Aguert-n-Igherm we will go up on the Jbel Aghouri will cross the high plateau of Azaghar-n-Yigr (15km) via Timlilt then Taoujgalt to Aït Youb where we will avoid the road by the other side of the valley to Aït Khlifa (9km)

Meal and night at Farah stopover in Rabat.

Day 6: Alemdoun - Souk El Kemis

6th stage: 34km including 3.5km of road + 555m -831m

After a well-deserved night and if the water level allows it, we will attack along the assif el Oati, in the gorges of Agouti El Fougani to exit into a valley and continue by a track through the villages to take the road to Boutharar and cross the Assif M'Goum to go up to Tamalout where we will seize the Ta'Louit pass at 2000m, from where we have a superb view of the valley of roses and Dades and we end with 15km of descent on Souk El Kemis. Possibility of going to the Hammâm for those who wish.

Packing of bikes. Meal and night at the Dar Lamane guest house.

Day7: Souk El Kemis - Marrakech

Transfer to Marrakech (300km): After loading the luggage, direction Skoura with its palm grove then Ouarzazate with the Kasba of Taourirt and we continue by Amerzgane then Agouim with a superb panorama on the jbel Toubkal (4167m). Finally we pass the col de tizi-N Tichka (2260m) before going down to Taddert for a barbecue tasting stop (Amazigh (Berber) village whose name means House. This village is one of the favorite stops for travelers. We leave for Aït- Ourir to finish in Marrakech (450m).

Visits along the way if the schedule allows it herbalist's shop , a carpet and Argan oil cooperative. Arrival at our hotel in the afternoon. Visit of the Souks, Place Jamel Efna, the Koutoubia and Majorele gardens….

Night in a hotel or Riad in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech

Wake up  in the morning with breakfast and transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule.
